José Manuel Pérez Cantú
Conservation Director
As conservation director, Jose Manuel is responsible for planning and implementing Cuenca Los Ojos’ land management strategy.
Originally from Monclova, Coahuila Mexico, Jose Manuel has an Animal Science degree from the Universidad Autónoma Agraria “Antonio Narro”. He comes from a family of cattle ranchers and has worked on a number of ranches throughout northeastern Mexico. Prior to Cuenca, he served as the director of Restoration and Reforestation of Pronatura Noreste A.C. where he collaborated with producers in both the private and social sectors in the states of Nuevo León Tamaulipas, Coahuila, Chihuahua, and San Luis Potosí. He has served as Cuenca’s conservation director since early 2013. Jose Manuel is convinced of the importance of the restoration, regeneration, and conservation of Cuenca’s ecosystems for the benefit of future generations.
