Jorge V. Chacón

Conservation Communicator

Jorge is from Hermosillo, Sonora. He grew up in the suburbs of his city and spent his childhood close to nature, which inspired him to dedicate his life to science and conservation. During high school, he discovered a passion for photography and design, and since then, he has always carried his camera for work or as a hobby.

Later, in university, Jorge studied ecology while pursuing various learning experiences. He has been involved in several community projects related to food security, desert foods, botany, and outdoor experiences, helping people connect with nature. Recently, Jorge joined the Cuenca team as a Conservation Communicator, where he helps share the organization's mission both externally and internally, fostering the development of values and principles among staff members.

When he visits home, Jorge enjoys spending time with his family and his dog, Lori. He also loves rock climbing, running, and practicing yoga with his friends. His goals and dreams include becoming a full-time outdoor educator, helping others heal their relationship with nature and develop outdoor and leadership skills.
